Developmental Science Works!
WHAT IS DEVELOPMENTAL SCIENCE?
Developmental science is the interdisciplinary study of human growth and change across the lifespan, examining how biological, cognitive, psychological, emotional, social, and environmental factors — intersecting with culture, identity, and context — interact to shape learning, behavior, and potential. It is a lens for understanding the human condition in all its diversity, complexity, and possibility.
PURPOSE
Developmental Science Works is a public study space translating developmental science into practical insights. I aim to explore how developmental science shows up in real-world systems and make sense of how people grow, learn, and function.

ABOUT LEONA
Welcome and thank you for visiting this space. I have nearly 10 years of experience across educational and human service settings, which shaped how I think about growth, learning, and human systems. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science with a focus in Community Health Science, Public Health. As someone with ADHD, my lived experience with neurodivergence has also informed this work. Developmental Science Works is where I document how I make sense of human experience using a developmental lens.
